Huddersfield Rams are an Australian Rules Football team, based in the West Yorkshire town of Huddersfield, England. They were formed in 2008 by Karl Haigh, who was introduced to the sport when traveling in Australia[1].
Having lost their first match against Manchester Mosquitos (59 - 19)[2] they won their following matches and against the Birmingham Bears in June[3]. They won their inaugural season, in 2009, beating the Birmingham Bears in the Central League Grand Final by 13.27 (105) - 12.10 (82).
They will play the 2010 season in the Aussie Rules UK National League - North West Division along with Manchester Bees, Oldham Tigers, Liverpool Eagles, Leeds Jets, Sheffield Thunder, York Vikings and Bradford Razorbacks.
The Huddersfield Rams Currently play at the Lockwood Park sports complex, the home of the Huddersfield Rugby Union Football Club.
